The Parody Mayor that went viral

The City of Pori turned its Mayor into a cheeky comedy character, earning over eight million organic views in a country with just over five million residents.

Apart from insulting people left and right, The Parody Mayor, portrayed by a famous comedian, compared people's relationships with The City of Pori to actual relationships, or as she said, Porilationships, in ten web video episodes.

I edited the video whole series. Both seasons had 5 episodes and 5 short social media clips to edit. The client wanted to publish the first episode of the series before the rest of them were ready and the original idea was to publish one episode a week, so the schedule made it possible for the episodes to be edited at the same time that they were published.

When the first episode was published it went absolutely viral. In 24 hours different publications were writing about it, it was featured on national tv and social media exploded from positive comments. It was something that nobody was expecting.

Since the first episode was such a hit the client wanted to publish the following episodes sooner than was originally planned, so we had to adjust the editing schedule to fit the overwhelming demand of the series. Each episode received so much positive feedback so it was worth it!
